Rails UI Audit

Looking to improve your Rails app’s UI and usability but aren’t sure where to start? I’ll review your interface and provide specific, actionable improvements.

I’ve been building sucesssful Rails apps for over a decade and typically work with teams on a monthly basis, helping them build and refine their UI (through my Tailor-made UI retainer. However, I know that’s not always the right fit — maybe you just need a fresh perspective or specific suggestions to improve what you already have.

That’s why I created these focused UI audit packages. They’re perfect for teams who want concrete UI improvements without the commitment of a monthly retainer:

  • Basic UI Audit

    $ 600 one-time
    payment

    • Up to 10 key UI improvements
    • Focus on highest-impact changes
    • Written report with annotated screenshots
    • 3-day delivery
  • Premium UI Audit

    $ 1000 one-time
    payment

    • Up to 20 key UI improvements
    • Priority recommendations
    • Written report with annotated screenshots
    • 20-min consultation call
    • 5-day delivery

No implementation details, no code reviews and focus on visual/UX improvements only.

Need more hands-on help? My Tailor-made UI retainer (starting at $2000/month) might be a better fit.

How does it work?

Choose a package that fits best (typically “Basic” is enough for fairly new apps). Upon ordering your audit, you can leave instructions where and how to sign up. Your app needs to be accessible with a typical web browser on desktop. If the sign up/onboarding process should be excluded, leave details on where to log in. Make sure credentials are added that have access to all features that needs to be reviewed.

Along with sign up/log in instructions, also leave:

  • when you launched;
  • your industry;
  • the (typical) kind of customers you serve.

After receiving payment, your audit will be enqueued. You will receive a report in PDF format with annotated screenshots with all suggested improvements.

Who am I?

I built my first site in 1997 as a youngster, then continued to built sites for local businesses. I then moved into design and art-direction work. Fast-forward to 2016, with just a few years of experience with Ruby on Rails, I launched my first successful SaaS. I have since sold it and built various other SaaS’ (again sold and other still run successfully). With Rails Designer, launched early 2024, I put all my UI and developer experience into one package so others can build beautiful, faster.
