With more than two decades of UI- and web-design experience, over a decade of experience in Ruby on Rails, and many years of experience with ViewComponent, Tailwind CSS and Hotwire, I have probably seen every product engineering problem in a Rails app.

I don’t come in and create static Figma mockups, I work in the code-base. From the HTML, to the (Tailwind) CSS to Ruby and JavaScript.

🎨 UI Modernization

If your app is older (maybe uses Bootstrap), I can help you modernize it. Not just the aesthetics, but also the front-end tooling (Sprockets → Propshaft, Webpacker → esbuild/Importmaps, etc.).

⚡ Hotwire Migration

If you find yourself with React or Vue as the bottleneck in the development cycle, you can move to Hotwire. It often is a much better much fit for Rails developers and helps keep a steady release cycle.

Who am I?

I built my first site in 1997 as a youngster, then continued to built sites for local businesses. I then moved into design and art-direction work. Fast-forward to 2016, with just a few years of experience with Ruby on Rails, I launched my first successful SaaS. I have since sold it and built various other SaaS’ (again sold and another is still profitable). With Rails Designer, launched early 2024, I put all my UI and developer experience into one package so others can build beautiful, faster.
